When I think of winter in New York City, dozens of images spring to mind: Ice skating in Rockefeller center, horse drawn carriage rides through snowy central park, shopping on Fith Avenue and of course, the ball dropping on New Year’s Eve in Time Square! Thousands of people will soon be making their way to this popular city to ring in the New Year with traditional time square madness. Will you be there too? Well, there are a few things you can see and do in addition to the famous Time Square event:

• See a Broadway show! There’s nothing like experiencing some of the best theater in the country in a city that has so many shows to offer. How about seeing The Producers, Chicago, or RENT?


• Go ice skating at the Rockefeller Center! Go ahead and get in touch with your inner Olympic figure skating self. It’s just $8 per hour and half session.


• Go shopping and get a peek at some of the most spectacular Christmas window displays in town. Don’t miss Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Saks Fith Avenue, Lord and Taylor’s, and Bergdorf Goodman’s.
