Monday, October 30. 2006Fly if You're on the No-Fly List - Website Generates Fake Boarding Passes
A doctoral student in computer science has come up with a great way to promote terrorism around the world. Now Osama Bin Laden can fly First Class anywhere in the world without having to worry about being apprehended at the airport.
Ok, so perhaps you can't fly for free, but if you ever wanted to fly under the name Dirk Diggler, you could, I guess. Wednesday, October 25. 2006Foodie Destination of the World - Italy and Its RegionsI was in Italy earlier this summer and sampled the fine cuisine that such culinary luminaries like Firenze, Lucca, Modena offered. It was a gastronomic love sonnet in my gullet, one that I will not forget, nor will the writer at the NYTimes.
Many a stomach has been satisfied in northern Italy, why not yours? Flights to Milan are only $450 from NYC, that's ridiculous, with all the money you're saving, you could pack your bag full of non-gel or liquid food items.

Saturday, October 21. 2006Traveling with Convenience
Traveling with a laptop is a requirement for a lot of people these days. Whether for business or pleasure, having a portable computer handy with all personal files, bookmarks, etc can be a boon. Despite all the new restrictions airlines installed for laptops (due to flaming batteries manufactured by Sony, etc), most of us cannot survive without satisfying our addiction to email, and the World Wide Web. How much is one willing to endure in order for the convenience of being able to surf the Internet? When does the inconvenience outweigh the convenience of having a laptop with you?
Here's an attempt to answer that question.

In this issue of, Who Is The Worst Seat Mate?, we examine the fat guy. The NY Times examined the issue last weekend in an article cleverly titled, Air Travel: Little Wiggle Room for XXL Passengers. And in their fine tradition of investigative journalism, told us nothing new or interesting. Fat people are either disabled and should be treated as such. Or hey should be made to buy a second seat if their girth spills over to the next seat as per Southwest's official policy. Or you should just cross your fingers and hope luck is on your side. Interesting subject.

Following on the steps of easyJet, Ryanair has executed, business wise, much better than any other low cost carrier in the Europe. They have become a trade name, like Kleenex, Xerox. 'You should just Ryanair it,' can be heard around the world. And now, they are attempting to purchase the sluggish Aer Lingus.

Monday, October 9. 2006France to Ban Smoking in Many Public PlacesJoining the scores of other cities which are banning smoking in public places, France is starting an initiative to do just that. PARIS - The days of cigarette-friendly France are about to go up in smoke. Amazing really. I cannot imagine an image of a French person without a Gitane hanging from his/her lips. The impregnated stench of smoke in an not-washed-in-two years tattered pea coat will be a thing of the past? My good French friends would use cigarette smoke to mask the not showering for days odour so Gallic in nature. My suggestion? Buy shares in any soap or deodorant that is distributed in France. Mark my words, soon, without the Eau de Smokeur, showering will no longer be optional.
