There has been a rapid increase in Dengue Fever cases reported to the CDC.  Last year there were more cases than in the previous 5 years combined.  

ATLANTA - Dengue fever has increased among U.S. travelers, with 96 cases reported in 2005, compared to 98 cases in the previous five years combined, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The trend was reported in the June 30 issue of Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, and publicized by the Center for Infectious Disease Research & Policy at the University of Minnesota.

Interesting to look at this.  Does this mean that more people are travelling to those areas, like Central and South America, or is Dengue spreading.  I would guess the former.  As more of Latin America opens up and tourists come in, the chances and cases for Dengue are only bound to increase.
