Tuesday, November 28. 2006“Ryanair, the airline for the extremely poor or very lonely”Not our quote. Someone who wasn't very happy with Ryanair's increasingly frustrating policies meant to keep costs down. On one hand you might argue these policies are meant to keep costs down, but really is letting families board first such a cost issue? And the baggage policy just seems dumb. Anyway, read the rant and decide. From Upgrade: Travel Better:

In August I traveled to Ireland and the U.K. to play in a softball tournament. There were 16 of us. We flew into Dublin On Aerlingus with no problem, we had a connecting flight to Bristol, U.K. on Ryanair. When we went to check in, they charged us $150 each for our equipment bags. Some of us had been on 3 other airlines in the last 2 days and had not been charged extra.
When I asked the manager if she could do something to help us because many of us were on a budget, she said" why would I want to help you, we already have your money."
We took our bags and a taxi, to the ferry to Wales and a train to Bristol, for less than half the price of our bags. Ryanair will never get anymore business from us. I hope they fold.
