Imagine a hotel built from thousands of tons of snow and ice, re-designed and re-constructed from scratch every winter. That is a life-cycle of ICEHOTEL in the little village called Jukkasjârvi in northern Lapland, Sweden.

Each year ICEHOTEL artists as well as invited artists from around the world create unique design and experience for the hotel and each of the suites.

The building of the ICEHOTEL starts in November and it takes about a month and half before the hotel opens. As soon as the spring sunshine gets stronger ( end of April – beginning of May) the Mother nature begins her demolition work in the most green/eco friendly style you can imagine - he ICEHOTEL simply makes its run directly to River Torne.

ICEHOTEL features double rooms and suites for overnight guests, a lobby, a pillar hall, film auditorium and of course the famous Absolut Icebar - where people from all over the world socialize till late.

You sleep in a thermal sleeping bag on a special bed built of snow and ice, on reindeer skins. You are awakened in the morning with a cup of hot lingonberry juice. Breakfast buffet, morning sauna and towels are also included.

While at the ICEHOTEL you can enjoy variety of activities: snowmobile safaris, snowshoe excursions, cross –country skiing, ice-sculpting, etc.
