The airline is still waiting for DOT approval, but with San Francisco as its base of operations and SFO - JFK as its inaugural route, Virgin America also just announced plans to fly to Washington Dulles, Los Angeles, San Diego and Las Vegas within its first nine months, "pending … certification by the U.S. Department of Transportation." Virgin America did not announce exactly which routes it would fly from those airports.
California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has recently voiced his support for the new airline by asking for a swift review of its application. The Governor notes that Virgin America will create as many as 1,700 jobs in the San Francisco Bay Area. Via USA Today. Watch them paint a Virgin America A320 Trackbacks
