Monday, November 7. 2005Virgin America Readies For Launch Speaking of Richard Branson, according to this article, Virgin America plans to file for a DOT license by Christmas. Filing for certification to fly with the US department of transportation will remove the last big hurdle to the launch, expected next year. Operating out of San Francisco, this would be Branson's fifth airline startup. My question is will they be serving tea and crumpets instead of the worn out peanuts and "savory snacks" American airlines seem to love? And what about pillows and blankets? Will they be bringing these back after US Airlines decided they weren't worth the cost. Inquiring minds want to know.
