Thanksgiving is just around the corner! I can almost taste that turkey and pumpkin pie... But first I'll have to battle with the millions of people who will take to the skies between now and Nov. 29th and so will you! Are you prepared to handle the chaos?! If you aren't a frequent traveler, here are a few tips from Yahoo! on what to expect at the airport:

• Before leaving home, check out the Transportation Security Administration's list of items that can't go into the passenger cabin, such as scissors, small knives and cigarette lighters.

• Make sure you get to the airport earlier than usual because the Air Transport Association predicts 21.7 million people will fly on U.S. airlines during the Thanksgiving travel season.

• Don't forget to wear sensible footwear, like loafers, since you'll have to take off your shoes to go through security.

• To speed up the security process, have your shoes, belts, jackets and other metal items already off before you walk through the metal detector.

• Don't carry wrapped presents on the plane — security will unwrap them to see what's inside.

• Don't plan on saying goodbye to family or friends at the gate — people without boarding passes are not allowed past the security check.

Most of all, be patient and remember your family and an amazing turkey dinner is waiting for you! The madness will all be worth it! Happy Thanksgiving!
