The weather is starting to turn from fall into winter quickly here in the United Sates just in time for the holidays, but maybe this year it’s time for change. Ever thought about Australia? Australia’s east coast, including Sydney and Melbourne, is where you’ll want to head if you decide to make the trip. Not only will you get the best weather, you’ll get to experience all the fun and beauty this country has to offer! Here’s what I recommend seeing while you’re there:

• Sydney: You simply must visit this cosmopolitan city on the water, including the famous Sydney Opera House and Bondi beach. I loved visiting Sydney’s Taronga Zoo which houses such animals as the kangaroo, the koala and my personal favorite: the platypus!
• The Great Barrier Reef: Okay, this is the biggest coral reef in the world. How could you justify going to Australia and not seeing it?! The Whitsunday islands offer a great place to stay, amazing views, and scuba or snorkeling tours of the surrounding reef.
• Melbourne: If you plan to be here on Christmas Eve don’t miss Carols by Candlelight where tens of thousands of people gather to sing their favorite Christmas songs under the clear warm night’s sky.
