It's becoming Spring in most of Europe as temperatures are rising. Prices, however, have remained low, and now is a great time to go to Europe from LA. Though it's super warm in LA, a quick little ski trip to Switzerland or Italy could be the ticket.

Are you kidding me? Now's the best time to go to Europe. Historically January is always cheap because who really travels after the holiday season? Savvy travellers know the best deals are found in January. Madrid for $397? You can't afford not to go.

Okay, now we're looking at finding a fun destination to spend New Year's Eve! Prices really aren't that bad from Los Angeles to Europe. I thnk a romantic trip to Paris is in order. I hear the Champs-Élysées is breathtaking this time of year!

Well, Los Angeles had an increase, but I'd say an overall 28% increase really isn't that bad. You can still get to Europe for a decent price for Christmas. How about a nice white Christmas in London?

Interesting, a cheaper fare to Amsterdam (AMS). Down 8.5%, not a bad price for this time of year. Otherwise, you may have to put off your Europe trip for another week, mid-December often has cheap fares.

Well, France remains exciting with all the rioting and the fact that people enjoy fireworks reflects in the fares. Literal hot spots like Paris (PAR) and Nice (NCE) are expensive right now. Madrid (MAD), is a better choice, better night life anyway and Amsterdam (AMS) is always a groovy destination.

The LAX Fare Index for this week shows average fares for most routes from LAX to Europe. A couple small bright spots are Zurich (ZRH) and Paris (PAR), but otherwise fares are pretty much at the average prices, which means not too bad. You can always try a MobiCombo?

The big mover on the Los Angeles Index was Frankfurt, dropping $86 or 16%, making it the cheapest way to get into Europe in November via CheapTickets/US Airways. In fact, it's so cheap you could consider it as a solid hub for creating MobiCombos. For example, if you were trying to book a flight into Venice from LA for the dates below on Expedia it would cost you $676. With a MobiCombo, you fly into Frankfurt for $441, then hop a plane from the nearby airport in Frankfurt (HHN) to Treviso (TSF), the nearby airport (19 miles) to Venice for $125. The total price for the ticket is $566, a grand savings of $110 or 16% discount over Expedia. Holy cow! That's like Mobissimo giving you a coupon for 16% off a flight to Europe. For free. Plus you get a free layover, if you can't make the connection times work, in Frankfurt. You can buy a lot of bockwurst for $110. Send all emails of undying gratitude to blog at mobissimo.com.
